2. ANTI RAGGING SQUAD

Anti-Ragging squads will prevent the incidents of ragging in the campus of Adesh Medical College & hospital. The members of anti ragging squads should take regular rounds of campus area and hospital to ensure that no act of ragging should take place anywhere in the campus. In case of act of ragging found, this should immediately be reported to Chairman of the Anti ragging Committee.

3. GENDER HARASSMENT COMMITTEE

With regard to the Supreme Court Judgment and guidelines for ensuring guarantee against sexual harassment of women, violence against women and ragging in the work place, “Gender Harassment Committee” has been established in the medical college as per following details.

Objectives

• The objectives of the Committee are:

• Prevent discrimination and sexual harassment against women, by promoting gender amity among students and employees.
• Make recommendations to the Director for changes/elaborations in the Rules for students in the Prospectus and the Bye-Laws, to make them gender just and to lay down procedures for the prohibition, resolution, settlement and prosecution of acts of discrimination and sexual harassment against women, by the students and the employees.
• Deal with cases of discrimination and sexual harassment against women, in a time bound manner, aiming at ensuring support services to the victimized and termination of the harassment.
• Recommend appropriate punitive action against the guilty party to the Director.

The following are also sexual harassment and is dealt by the committee:

• Eve-teasing.
• Unsavoury remarks.
• Jokes causing or likely to cause awkwardness or embarrassment.
• Innuendos and taunts.
• Gender based insults or sexist remarks.
• Unwelcome sexual overtone in any manner such as over telephone (obnoxious telephone calls) and the like.
• Touching or brushing against any part of the body and the like.
• Displaying pornographic or other offensive or derogatory pictures, cartoons, pamphlets or sayings.
• Forcible physical touch or molestation .
• Physical confinement against one’s will and any other act likely to violate one’s privacy.

5. COLLEGE COUNCIL

College council has been constituted to draw up the details of curriculum and training programme, enforcement of discipline and other academic matters. The Council will organise inter-departmental meetings like grand rounds, statistical meetings and clinico pathological meetings including periodical research review in the Institution regularly. The Council will meet at least four times in the year to draw up the details of curriculum and training programme, enforcement of discipline and other academic matters.

9. COLLEGE DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE

In pursuit of prevalence of a healthy environment by regulating the discipline among the students in the campus and to develop machinery to regulate the behavior of students it is considered necessary to constitute Students Disciplinary Committee. Accordingly Students Disciplinary Committee is constituted to take cognizance of indiscipline and unruly behavior of students both in the College and in the Hostel by inflicting the penalties commensurate with the in-disciplinary acts of students. The committee shall take cognizance of the complaints or allegations received against the students. If the misdemeanor is minor, mild or moderate warranting admonition such cases could be dealt with at the individual level by the concerned HOD/ Medical Superintendent/ Principal. Otherwise it shall be referred it to Students Disciplinary Committee. The meetings of the committee shall be held as frequently as may be deemed expedient as and when complaints are received or at least once in a month. The recommendations of the Committee shall be submitted to the Management or referred to the concerned functionaries for imposition of such penalties proportionate to the gravity, magnitude, nature and degree of misconduct or misbehavior made out or proved in an inquiry against delinquents.

11. PHARMACO VIGILANCE COMMITTEE

Pharmaco-vigilance is the science that deals with activities related to the detection, assessment, understanding and prevention of adverse drug reactions and development of drugs resistance. This helps us to evolve policy towards safe and effective use of medicines so that drug related mortality and morbidity can be prevented or minimized.

Objectives

• To monitor the adverse drug reactions (ADR) & development of drug resistance.
• To optimize safe and effective use of medicines in our set up
• To provide the safety related information to all stakeholders
• To create an awareness among the healthcare professionals in reporting ADR.
• To establish a Drug Information Centre in our institute to disseminate need-based drug related information to stake holders.
• To identify the areas of public importance such as Pharmaco-vigilance of Antimicrobial agents, Analgesics, Drug safety in Paediatrics etc. through co-operation from various disciplines
• To identify other areas through constant vigilant activity so that we can maximize the safe and effective use of medicines in our set-up.

Activities

• Monitoring the adverse drug reactions(ADR) & development of drug resistance in inpatients and outpatients.
• Assessment of cassation and feedback to clinicians.
• Adverse drug reactions(ADR) & development of drug resistance reporting to the Director-Principal & Medical Superintendent (NCMCH, Israna)
• Maintaining the ADR registry.
• Training of healthcare professionals (clinicians, nurses, pharmacists, medical students) for voluntary ADR reporting.
• • Awareness program towards educating the public.

12. FIRE SAFETY COMMITTEE

The Fire Safety Committee will function under the overall supervision of the undersigned and shall comprise of :

• 4. Fire Safety Officer

Fire Safety Committee will supervise the work of following sub committees which will each be responsible for various buildings of college campus. Hospital Building : Under direct supervision of the Medical Superintendent and Dr. Tarun Dagar, AP, Forensic Medicine & Mr. Jaiveer Singh will assist him.

The actions of an effective response strategy are based on the above principles and the equipment available to carry out the various response actions appropriately. It needs no emphasis to say that the equipping of a force is useful only if it is properly trained on the specific equipment to carry out the specific tasks assigned.
