World Kidney Day Awareness Program Held at Adesh Medical College & Hospital

On the occasion of World Kidney Day (12 March 2026), an awareness program was organized at Adesh Medical College and Hospital, Mohri under the theme “Kidney Health for All – Caring for People, Protecting the Planet.” The program was jointly organized by the Department of Community Medicine and the Department of Medicine.

The event began with an awareness rally in which doctors, staff, and students participated to spread messages about kidney health and prevention of kidney diseases.

During the program, Dr. Guntas Gill (Director) emphasized early detection and prevention of kidney diseases, while Dr. Gursatinder Singh (Medical Superintendent) highlighted the increasing burden of kidney disorders and the importance of regular health check-ups. Dr. Vikrant Prabhakar, HOD, Department of Community Medicine, spoke about the role of public health awareness. Dr. Arvind Kumar Gupta, Consultant Nephrology, and Dr. Sourabh Gupta, Consultant Urology, shared important information on kidney care and preventive measures.

A poster competition was also organized to promote awareness among students, and the winners were awarded certificates and prizes.

The program was conducted under the leadership and guidance of Dr. Vikrant Prabhakar (Professor & HOD, Community Medicine), Dr. Arvind Kumar Gupta (Consultant Nephrology), and Dr. Sushil Dalal (Professor, Community Medicine).

The event was successfully coordinated and managed by Dr. Ashish Kumar, Dr. Raman (PG Resident, 2nd Year), and Er. Sunita Sirohi (IT Department).

The program concluded with a message encouraging everyone to adopt healthy habits and spread awareness about kidney health in the community.
