The Department of Community Medicine, Adesh Medical College & Hospital, organized a World Earth Day celebration on 22nd April 2026 at Sub Centre, Kharindwa, under the guidance of Dr. Vikrant Prabhakar (Head of Department), Dr. Sushil Dalal (Professor), and Dr. Aashish Papneja (Senior Resident).
The event witnessed active participation from MBBS Batch 2023 students and postgraduate residents, who conducted awareness talks and community activities on environmental health and sustainable living.
The theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” emphasized the collective responsibility of protecting the environment and promoting health.
The program began with an address on the link between environmental health and human well-being, followed by sessions on:
- Waste Segregation and Disposal
- Biomedical Waste Management
- Plastic Pollution
- Air and Water Pollution
- Plantation and Environmental Conservation
- Prevention of Vector-Borne Diseases under VBDCP
Participants highlighted practical preventive measures such as sanitation, proper waste disposal, reducing plastic use, mosquito control, and tree plantation.
The program concluded with an interactive community session, reinforcing that environmental protection is essential for public health.
The event successfully sensitized participants and the local community about sustainable practices and collective action for a healthier future.
