National Nutrition Week (1st – 7th September 2025) was celebrated at Adesh Medical College and Hospital by the Department of Community Medicine. The program was organized by Dr. Neha Gaur (PGY-2, Community Medicine) under the supervision of Dr. Vikrant Prabhakar, Head of Department, Community Medicine, and under the guidance of Dr. Sushil Dalal, Professor, Community Medicine, and Dr. Monu Dalal, Senior Resident, Community Medicine.

Dr. Satwant Kaur, Head of Department, Obstetrics & Gynaecology
Dr. Vinita Rana, Dietician, Department of Dietetics
Interns posted in the Department of Community Medicine also actively participated in the activities.
The week-long program began on 1st September 2025 at the Gynaecology OPD, where Dr. Vinita Rana, Dietician, delivered a health talk to antenatal patients on the importance of a balanced diet and specific dietary requirements during pregnancy.
Growth monitoring activities were conducted at the Paediatrics OPD on 4th, 5th, and 8th September 2025, where 23 children were assessed and cases of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) were identified. On these days, Dr. Vinita Rana also conducted a health talk for parents on balanced diets according to age and healthy dietary practices.
The sessions concluded with an interactive question-and-answer round, where patients, parents, and attendants actively engaged with the specialists, and their queries were comprehensively addressed.
The celebration of National Nutrition Week 2025 at Adesh Medical College and Hospital highlighted the importance of nutritional awareness, early identification of malnutrition, and promotion of healthy dietary habits in the community.
