Celebrating Health, Empowering Communities!

On the occasion of World Health Day 2025, the Department of Community Medicine at Adesh Medical College and Hospital, Kurukshetra conducted a series of meaningful events centered around Maternal and Child Health — echoing this year’s theme: “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Future”.

1. Brainpower Unleashed: IAPSM Quiz for MBBS Students

As part of National Level WHD Quiz conducted by IAPSM, quiz session, testing students’ knowledge on public health and global health priorities, sparking awareness and competitive spirit among budding doctors was conducted. Students from all batches participated. Kheelit Pruthi, Jagpreet Sing and Karan Yadav from Batch 2021 bagged the first prize.

2. Wellness in Womb: Yoga Session for Antenatal Mothers

Yogacharya from Deptt. of Ayush, Kurukshetra conducted sessions for AnteNatal women. The session aimed to help expectant mothers learn healthy practices and techniques for wholistic well-being of mothers and child. The session was conducted in the newly comissioned College of Physiotherapy at Adesh campus, thus opening avenues of collaboration between different institutions within #Adesh_Group. Post-session, ANC kits — containing soft towels, essential supplements, and wellness materials — were lovingly distributed to support their journey.

3. Touching Lives: Health Camp at Mohri Village

A special outreach initiative brought free medical check-ups, health screenings, and counselling right to the doorstep of Mohri village. The spotlight was on antenatal and postnatal care in the spirit of WHD theme, ensuring no mother is left behind.

4. Nurturing Knowledge: Expert Health Talks

Dr. Triptee (Pediatrics) shared key insights on newborn care, addressing concerns and boosting the confidence of postnatal mothers.

Dr. Simran (OBG Resident) engaged antenatal mothers with practical advice on maintaining a safe and healthy pregnancy.

Impact That Lasts

Each initiative underlined the power of early health interventions and the vital role of community engagement in shaping a healthier tomorrow.
