- RULES AND REGULATIONS OF COLLEGE
The students are requested to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations.
General rules and regulations: Every student admitted to the Bachelor of Physiotherapy course shall have to follow rules and regulations of the institute.
All decisions taken by the management are final.
Students should abide by the college regulations set forth in the calendar as well as those formulated from time to time by the Principal.
A six-day working schedule from Monday to Saturday is followed. Students should always wear tidy, clean and neat uniforms/formal shirts tucked into pants with a black belt and black shoes and wear an apron during practical/clinical hours opting for comfortable professional attire to the college. Students will be permitted to come in decent informal wear only on Saturdays. On first and third Saturday, the academics will be off while the clinical activities will be run as it is for the smooth functioning of the hospital.
Students are expected to enter the college on time 9:00 AM or before and leave the college 4:00 PM or later. Biometric attendance will be followed strictly. Latecomers will be considered absent on that day.
Students are expected to be present in the class at least 5 minutes before the commencement of the period.
Students should maintain perfect order and strict silence inside the lecture hall. No student shall enter or leave the classroom when the session is on, without the permission of the teacher concerned.
Movement outside the classroom in between lectures should be minimum and for valid reasons only.
Students are advised to utilize their mobile phone with the permission of the teacher otherwise keep your mobile phone on silent mode.
In the events of student seminars/project presentations/workshops, etc., it is compulsory that all students will be participate and present for the entire session.
Students are encouraged to make use of library, common computing facilities and to involve in professional body activities or any program authorized by the college.
Students can leave the campus during the class hours only after getting permission from the class Coordinator or Principal.
All leave applications (Regular & Medical) shall be submitted in time for sanction by Principal and concerned teachers. Applications for medical leaves shall be accompanied by valid medical certificates.
Students are expected to attend all college functions in college uniform unless otherwise specified. Students should wear their identity cards and keep them well displayed in the campus.
Any deviant behavior such as intoxicated state, smoking, hooting, whistling, loitering, etc., in the campus and around the corridors, class, library, reading room, attending other classes, indulging in malpractice during examinations and disrespect to teachers will be treated as an instance of indiscipline.
As per Govt. order, only students who have a licence and helmet will be permitted to park their motor vehicles in the allocated parking area.
Students should make every effort to take care of the college and hospital property and help in maintaining the same. They should not write on the black board, scribble on tables, chairs, walls etc.
Students should not utilize the faculty rest room and washroom.
If the students have any problem, they should inform the class representative and the class representative will intimate it to the class coordinators. If the problem is not solved at the class coordinator’s level, then the class students should by-pass the above mentioned channels. Exceptions are allowed only if the problem is utmost urgent/serious.
Students are not allowed to come directly to the Principal office without permission of the class coordinator, until there is any emergency.
Students are required to maintain ethical and professional standards in behavior both inside and outside the college, hospital, hostel and community premises.
A student is not allowed to receive gift or gratuity of any sort at any time from the patients of the hospital or their relatives.
Students have to bring their own clinical examination kit (hammer, goniometer, inch tape, stethoscope etc.) during the practical and clinical postings.
Students and interns are deemed responsible for upkeep of equipment they use in different physiotherapy labs/clinics. Misuse or negligence will result in replacement of the particular item by the candidate.
Students and interns must maintain proper rapport with patients under their care. Students are encouraged to take initiative to learn local languages to communicate with patients effectively.
Only 6 casual leaves are permitted within the period of 180 days of internship. This will not be sanctioned in a block and should be preferably taken as one per month; otherwise internship will be extended on 1:3 ratio rule per leave.
In an event of absence or change of postings, the students and intern should hand over the responsibility of patients under their care to another student and intern and inform the respective coordinators/supervisors.
Students and interns shall work on declared holidays in their respective clinical postings. This attendance will be accounted for in the final tally. No compensatory off will be permitted for such work done.
Each student/intern is responsible for the proper handling and safe custody of any apparatus or equipment that he/she may be using in different physiotherapy labs/clinics. Misuse or negligence will result in replacement of the particular item by the candidate. Any willful damage done to the property of the college or hospital will be treated as breach of discipline.
Students are not allowed to paste notices within the institutions without prior written permission from the Office of the Principal.
Students are forbidden to communicate with any person outside the authority without permission from the Office of the Principal.
Any student who damages the reputation of the institute in any way is liable to be expelled. If any student discontinues the course, he/she shall clear all dues before leaving the college. If he/she fails to pay, his/her original certificates will be retained and will be returned once the dues are cleared by the student.
Access to academic buildings beyond the above timing and on holidays without the written permission from the Principal will be treated as a case of indiscipline.
Any willful damage done to the property of the college or hospital will be treated as breach of discipline.
Violating the rules of institute/hostel will be dealt with seriously by the college authorities and if necessary dismissal from the college may be considered depending upon the seriousness of the violation.
Rules are subject to change from time to time.
Uniform: Wearing of uniform is compulsory in the institute as well as in clinical area. (Hospital and Community)
Working hours:
• During summer: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On First and Third Saturday Academics will be Off while OPD and IPD services will be available from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
• During winter: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Note: Students shall have to do clinical duty in the clinical area of hospital as per rotation plan prepared to meet the required clinical experience.
Vacations: As per HSCP and PT. B.D. Sharma University norms.
Holidays: As per decisions of the management.
Leave:
The period of ANY TYPE of leave (including sick leave) will be considered as ABSENCE for purpose of determination of candidate’s eligibility to appear in the university examination and also for computation of internal assessment.
In all cases leave taken will be at student’s own risk so far as the percentage of attendance is considered and even medical certificate will not make up for deficiency in attendance.
Sick leave will only be granted on the production of valid medical certificate from an authorized medical officer. The student will submit a fitness certificate from same doctor before rejoining.
A medical certificate must specify the nature of illness and the period with dates of leave recommended on account of that illness.
- RULES AND REGULATIONS OF LIBRARY
The library will be open on all working days from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Silence and order must be maintained in the library at all times. Cell phones must be on vibration mode. A fine of Rs. 10/- shall be charged for mobile sound/ringtone/alarm.
All kinds of eatables/drinks are prohibited in the library.
Only two books and two older volumes of journals will be issued at a time.
No book shall be kept for more than 07 days. After that, a fine of Rs. 5/- per book per day will be charged. Further issuance is stopped until fines are paid and books returned.
Writing, marking, underlining, or damaging library books is strictly forbidden. The cost of replacement shall be borne by the student.
Reference books, rare books, reserved books, current journals, magazines, and newspapers will not be issued under any circumstances.
The librarian may recall any book at any time, even before the due date.
In valid cases of delay, fine reduction is at the Principal’s discretion.
Each student is issued one library membership card. Lost cards must be replaced at prescribed cost. Cards are not transferable.
Book cards must be returned to the librarian and stamped before books are taken out.
Damaged or lost books must be replaced or their cost paid. For sets/series, the cost of the full set applies if a single copy is not replaceable.
During stock checking (pre-notified), all issued books must be returned.
Library access is allowed to:
a. Faculty of the Physiotherapy College
b. Students of the Physiotherapy CollegeViolations of rules will result in disciplinary action.
Note: Any term/condition/situation not covered by the above rules will be decided by the Principal of Adesh Physiotherapy College.
- RULES AND REGULATIONS OF HOSTEL
All hostellers/residents, guests, and visitors to the hostels should conduct themselves in a manner that upholds the prestige, honor, and dignity of Adesh Physiotherapy College.
General Discipline:
Discipline and decorum must be maintained in the hostel and campus.
Respect the privacy, dignity, and property of fellow residents.
Noise, shouting, or disturbances are prohibited.
Audio devices must be used at low volume or with earphones.
Parties or celebrations require prior permission from the Chief Warden.
Hostel property must be cared for; vandalism is a serious offence.
Ragging is banned in any form.
Misbehavior with institute staff is prohibited.
Tobacco and its products are banned.
Alcohol, drugs, and other intoxicants are not permitted.
Alcohol is not allowed even during authorized celebrations.
Possession or distribution of drugs is a criminal offence.
Physical or mental violence is strictly prohibited.
Weapons or replicas are not allowed.
Unauthorized individuals are not allowed into the hostel premises.
Emergency Reporting:
Hostellers must report immediately in case of:
Security threats, vandalism, misconduct, ragging, or illness
Unusual or dangerous behavior of fellow residents
Fires, accidents, or suspicious activities
Anti-national or criminal acts
Religious Activities:
Religious gatherings and activities are not allowed inside hostel premises.
Parents and Guardians:
May report grievances through proper channels.
Should not interfere with hostel administration.
May offer suggestions to the Warden/Director.
Constructive feedback is welcomed through proper format.
- MAINTENANCE
All residents must care for furniture, fixtures, and hostel infrastructure.
Moving of furniture is not allowed.
Report damage/defects to Hostel Section/Maintenance immediately.
Unauthorized electrical conduits are prohibited.
Electrical appliances in washrooms must be used carefully.
Students must not attempt electrical repairs.
Electricity and water must not be wasted.
Rooms and common areas must be kept clean.
Garbage should be disposed in designated bins.
Cleanliness complaints must be reported to Hostel Section.
Standing water, especially during monsoon, should be reported.
- SAFETY AND SECURITY
Cooperation with authorities is required for hostel security.
Safety concerns can be reported confidentially.
Report immediately if noticing:
Suspicious individuals or activities
Suspicious vehicles or unattended articles
Ragging or abuse
Rooms must be locked when unattended.
Avoid keeping large sums of cash or valuables in rooms.
Institutional ID cards must be carried at all times.
Guests must present ID or be accompanied by a resident.
Unauthorized persons should be reported to Security.
Delivery personnel must be met at the hostel entrance.
Visitors (including parents) should not enter rooms without permission.
Opposite-gender visitors are strictly prohibited in hostels.
Maids/servants are not allowed.
Hazardous materials are banned.
Cooking is not permitted in rooms.
- HEALTH
Students must care for their health and hygiene.
Illness should be reported to Hostel Section for assistance.
Students on regular medication must confidentially inform the Hostel Section.
Adverse health conditions will be communicated to parents/guardians.
Communicable diseases must be reported to the Warden.
- STUDENTS OUT PASS
Prior permission is required from Principal/Chief Warden/Warden for night leave.
Leave over three days will be granted only in special circumstances.
Students with inadequate attendance will not be granted leave.
Weekend leave allowed only if home address is within 20 km of campus.
Students leaving before 4:00 PM must obtain a gate out pass.
Failure to return from leave on time without notice will result in blacklisting and denial of leave for three months.
