ABOUT DEPARTMENT
Burn Unit in a hospital, it is likely a term used to describe a specialized unit within a hospital that focuses on the care and treatment of newborn infants, particularly those who require specialized medical attention. This unit is commonly known as a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or a Special Care Nursery. The purpose of a born unit or NICU is to provide specialized medical care to newborns who are premature, have low birth weight, or have specific medical conditions that require close monitoring and intervention. These units are staffed by a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including neonatologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other specialists who are experienced in caring for critically ill or fragile infants. The born unit or NICU is equipped with advanced medical equipment and technology to support the specialized needs of newborns. This may include incubators, ventilators, specialized monitoring systems, and equipment for administering medications and nutrition. The care provided in a born unit focuses on maintaining the infant’s stability, managing any medical conditions or complications, and supporting their growth and development. The team works closely with the infant’s parents to provide education, emotional support, and involvement in their baby’s care.
