Pediatric is a branch of medicine that deal with the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents, ranging from birth up to the age of 18 years. Adesh medical college and Hospital Is a tertiary care teaching hospital and the Department of Pediatris at AMCH is responsible for providing specialized medical care to children and adolescents.
Overview of the Department of Pediatrics
1. Faculty members: The Pediatrics Department has a team of experienced and qualified faculty member, who are responsible for teaching, research, and providing specialized medical care.
2. Senior residents: The department also has a team of senior residents who are responsible for overseeing the care of patients and supervising medical students and residents.
3. Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching: The Department of Pediatrics is responsible for teaching undergraduate medical students about the diagnosis, treatment, and management of pediatric patients. The pediatrics Department also offers a PG program in pediatric. Medicine (MD Pediatrics) with four seats available for residents to gain hands-on experience in the diagnosis, treatment and management of pediatric patients.
4. Research: The Pediatrics Department conducts research to advance the field to pediatric medicine, improve patient care, and develop new treatments and therapies

We provide a wide range of services that include:
1. Normal newborn care: The department provides round the clock delivery services and comprehensive care to newborn, including immunizations, breastfeeding support, and routine health checkups.
2. Care of sick and preterm newborns: The Department has a level 2 NICU, where sick and preterm newborns are provided with specialized medical care, including respiratory support, antibiotics, intravenous fluids, and nutrition.
3. Outpatient services: The department provides OPD services for children and adolescents, including general checkups, vaccinations, and treatment of common illnesses.
4. Inpatient pediatric services: The department has a dedicated pediatric eward where children with serious illnesses are admitted for specialized care.
5. PICU: The department has 5 bedded pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for critically ill children who require intensive care and monitoring.
6. Daycare for thalassemia patients: The department has ad daycare facility for children with thalassemia, a genetic blood disorder that requires lifelong treatment and repeated blood transfusions.
7. Immunization service: The department provides immunization service for children and adolescents, including routine childhood vaccinations and specialized vaccinations for high risk populations.
8. Adolescent health clinics: The department has specialized clinics for adolescents health, where teenagers can receive counseling and medical care related to reproductive health, mental health, and substance abuse.
9. Nutritional and developmental screening and counseling: The department provides nutritional and developmental screening for children and adolescents, including counseling for parents on healthy eating habits and child development.
10. Speciality clinics: The department has specialized clinics for various pediatric sub- specialties, including cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, and hematology.
